Between the infamous villages of Nice and Cannes, the medieval hilltop village of Biot in the Provence-Alpes-Côte-d’Azur near Antibes is well renowned for its earthenware jarres since the middle ages.
Classic French Biot Olive Jarres date back to the 16th Century. These Jarres mainly transported olives and oil and often early exemples wear the stamp by either the potter or the recipient’s personal name for their yearly delivery.
